Began over 25 years ago across the neighborhoods and lawns of Cincinnati.
Joseph Semrad III realized his passion and pride for landscape care and design.
Mowing lawns as a boy, Joe found that his love of the outdoors made a natural path
for him into the landscape design and maintenance business.
Joe majored in Ornamental Horticulture and Turf-Grass Management in college. He
spent six years dedicated to his education in landscape design and management
while working at several of the area’s leading garden & landscape centers. His training
and natural “eye” for landscape design escalated Joe to the job of chief landscape
foreman.

Today Joe owns and manages Upgrade Landscape Design, Inc. Upgrade has grown
substantially since Joe started the business out of his home in 1989. Upgrade now employs a fully trained staff,
including certified installers, designers and arborists, as well as a variety of subcontractors.
Joe continues to take great pride in his work and is a “hands-on” owner. He visits
every site and can usually be found shovel-in-hand or on the seat of a commercial riding mower.
He invokes his dedication to quality through his business practices and well-trained
employees. Joe wants Upgrade to be his mark on the world, helping to make it a
more beautiful one to live in.
